Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your garment to be produced and prepared for shipping.

Because each garment is made to order, we cannot accept returns or refunds for change of mind.

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, items may be returned within six months if they are defective or do not meet reasonable quality standards.

Because each garment is knitted by hand, measurements may vary from one piece to another. We recommend comparing these measurements to a garment you already own for the best reference.

Mohair does not need frequent washing. The fibre is naturally breathable and odour-resistant, so airing your garment after wear is usually enough. When washing is necessary:

• Hand wash gently in lukewarm water
• Use a mild wool detergent
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry
• Do not leave your mohair in the sun to dry, as it may affect the natural dyes

Avoid tumble drying or ironing.

If you’re looking for an in-person Mohair by Chommies experience, you are welcome to visit us in-store at 110 Hatfield Street, Gardens, Cape Town. We are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm or Saturday 9am to 2pm.

Mohair is a natural fibre produced from the hair of the Angora goat. It is lightweight, warm and breathable, with a soft sheen and strong durability.

The fibres are smooth, which helps garments hold their shape and resist wrinkling.

Our mohair is sourced from Angora goats raised in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, a region known for producing some of the world’s finest mohair.

The farms we work with follow the Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS), supporting responsible animal welfare, land management and fibre production.

Our yarn is dyed in small batches using natural dyeing processes.
Because chemical colour fixatives are not used, subtle variations in tone may occur between dye batches. These differences are part of the natural character of hand-dyed yarn and contribute to the uniqueness of each garment.
